A “must have” Christmas dvd!

This dvd is excellent! For years I loved watching the VHS version of this sing-a-long classic and was very excited when it came out on dvd. Yes, they did change a few things, but I think the changes are wonderful! They added several new songs, and I love the opening with the the little Christmas town and train set. My kids (8, 6, 3) enjoy watching this video year-round, and I love listening to it. All of the songs but two are secular, but that’s to be expected. (I was a little worried that they would omit the two Christian songs when they made the dvd, but fortunately they’re still there.) I think my favorite thing about this movie is that, in my opinion, all of the songs are the very best versions, sung in classic fashion by many of the artists that made them famous… No modern hip-hop versions or anything like that here. Absolutely one of our family favorites!

I use to have this on VHS when I was a little girl. I loved it then and love it now! Has all the classics on there plus a ton of new songs. My 14 month can’t watch it enough! He loves to dance in front of the tv to all the songs. We are STILL watching it even after Christmas! I highly recommend this to anyone with kids or who is a kid at heart.

How can you call this “Very Merry Christmas” and not have that song on here? Lynn Gibson must have imagined “From all of us to all of you” being on this DVD, or she didn’t actually watch it before reviewing, because that song is not on the DVD. The description also makes it sound like it has the classic Disney Christmas cartoons on here, but in reality there are only short clips of the cartoons from Jiminy Cricket’s Christmas special (apparently not available on DVD) set to newly-sung Christmas songs. This was a huge disappointment and definitely not what we were hoping for.

I bought this DVD for my 1 year old son to introduce him to Christnas carols and he loved it! The DVD provides most of the same footage from the original VHS format, but it’s now a little lengthier. Given my son’s short attention span due to his young age he didn’ sit through the whole thing, but he seemed to enjoy the songs he’s heard us sing him throughout the holiday season. I totally recommend this!

Our son loves this DVD and has ever since the first time he viewed it. I love it too but more for the winter wonderland scenes in between the songs. It is a really beautiful and gets you in the holiday mood.

I used to watch this video when i was a kid. I bought it mostly for nostalgic reasons for my music class. I will be showing this to my young music students who have trouble singing on the beat without staring at the text. The disney pictures are lovely, and the singing on the video is pretty good. lots of children singing, which is always encouraging for the little ones. (they can do it too.) all in all, a good, safe buy for a young one.

I was wanting to relive my childhood so I recently purchased the DVD version of Very Merry Christmas, however was disappointed to see that there had been songs added to the DVD that weren’t on the original VHS. The new songs and animation aren’t bad, I was just disappointed with the change. Still worth it, especially if you actually have children watching it.
If I’d never seen the original and wasn’t expecting the content to be the same I would rate this DVD a 5.
